Let's stop guessing.

How it works

It starts with a conversation.

Talk

We chat for 15 minutes Free

No cost, no commitment. You tell me where you're stuck. I tell you honestly whether I can help and what I'd suggest.

Meet Deanna

Someone who's sat on the other side of the desk.

Hiring side eyes

Advice from someone who has read hundreds of real applications and sat in the room deciding who got called back.

The same person every time

You're not starting again with a stranger each session. By the third conversation I know your situation.

Something written down

You leave with next steps on paper, not just a nice chat you half remember by Tuesday.

What I don't do is put anyone into a job. I get you ready to go and get one.

What actually happens in a career session?

You talk and I listen first. We go through what you've done so far, including things you wouldn't think to mention like sport, volunteering or looking after family, and work out what those say about you. Then we look at where that could go and what the realistic next step is. You leave with that written down.

Will you find me a job?

No, and be careful of anyone who says they will. What happens here is that you get clear on what you're aiming at and properly ready for it, so that when you do apply you're a much stronger candidate than you were.

I'm 17 and I've never had a job. Is this a waste of time?

The opposite. Having no paid work history doesn't mean having no experience. School projects, team sport, caring for younger siblings, a side hustle, volunteering, all of it shows things employers pay for. Most people have just never been shown how to see it or how to say it.

Where are the in person sessions held?

In a private room in Wamberal on the Central Coast, New South Wales. The exact address is sent when your booking is confirmed. Everything is also available online, so where you live doesn't matter.

Can a parent book on behalf of their teenager?

Yes, and plenty do. Parents are welcome to sit in on the first session or to stay out of it completely, whichever works better for the young person.

How much does career counselling cost in Australia?

A one hour session with a career practitioner in Australia usually runs between $199 and $320, and multi session packages are often around $900. Fast Forward Careers is deliberately priced below that while it gets established on the Central Coast, starting at $59 for a quick résumé review and $100 for a full hour. The first 15 minute call is always free.
